Submission Checklist
Getting Started
Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that it fully aligns with the scope and article type of the YellowMark journal to which you are submitting. Submissions that do not fit the journal's aims or section focus may face delays or rejection.
All submissions must be made exclusively through the YellowMark Manuscript Submission Portal at yellowmark.org/user/login
Both the submitting (corresponding) author and all co-authors are required to register and maintain an active account. This ensures transparency, authorship verification, and direct access to the manuscript during all stages of review and publication.
1. Author Information
a) Author Registration and Details
- Every author listed on the manuscript must create an account via our platform.
- During submission, the submitting author must enter the names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses of all co-authors.
- Only authors with EMS accounts will be linked to the submission.
- Verify that all listed contributors meet the authorship criteria (substantial contribution to conception, analysis, or writing).
b) Author Contribution Statement
- Provide a clear statement summarizing each author's specific contribution (e.g., conceptualization, data collection, analysis, supervision, manuscript drafting, etc.).
- This information is mandatory and will be displayed in the published article for transparency.
2. File Requirements
a) Manuscript Files
- Upload your main manuscript file in either Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or LaTeX (.tex) format.
- Also upload a PDF version generated from the source file for review.
- For LaTeX users, please include the .BIB file if references are not integrated into the main text.
b) Figures and Images
- Submit all figures separately in TIFF or JPEG format, RGB color mode, and at least 300 DPI resolution.
- All figures must comply with the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license.
- Permissions must be obtained for any figure or content reused, adapted, or modified from third-party sources.
- It is the authors' responsibility to acquire permissions, provide appropriate credit, and cover any associated licensing costs.
- Figures will appear at the end of the submitted manuscript during review.
c) Tables
- Tables must be inserted directly within the manuscript text, not as images.
- They should be editable, well-formatted, and numbered sequentially.
3. Ethical and Data Statements
a) Ethical Approvals
- Research involving human participants, animals, or identifiable data requires prior approval from an accredited ethics committee.
- During submission in the EMS, you will be prompted to declare ethical approval details and participant consent.
- The EMS will automatically generate the appropriate ethical statement based on your responses — you do not need to include this in your manuscript file.
b) Data Availability
- Authors must ensure that data supporting the results are either included in the manuscript or deposited in a recognized public repository before publication.
- During submission, you will answer questions about data sharing; the EMS will automatically generate a Data Availability Statement for inclusion in your article.
- Ensure that shared data comply with privacy and ethical standards.
4. Contribution to the Field Statement
Before submission, prepare a concise statement (maximum 200 words) describing:
- The novelty of your research
- Its importance and relevance to the field
- How it advances existing knowledge
This statement should be written in clear, accessible language that can be understood by a non-specialist reader.
Note: YellowMark does not require a traditional cover letter; this statement serves as your submission overview.
5. Funding and Payment Information
a) Funding Details
- Provide complete funding information for all sources that supported your research, including grant numbers and sponsor names.
- Mention any institutional or grant-based support received for Article Processing Charges (APCs).
b) Payment and Invoicing
- During submission, specify the billing contact and address for APC invoicing.
- If your institution is part of YellowMark's Institutional Partnership Program, select it in the payment section to automatically apply eligible discounts or waivers.
- Ensure payment details are accurate to avoid delays after acceptance.
